Three smugglers arrested, 50 kg poppy recovered in JK
Srinagar, Jul 19: Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested three smugglers and half a quintal poppy was seized from them in south Kashmir, official sources said.
They said on a tip-off, police conducted search operation at village Kakpora in south Kashmir district of Pulwama and arrested three smugglers Mohammad Rafiq Bhat, Abdul Rahim Kar and Mohammad Sadiq and seized 50 kg of banned poppy.
Police and officials from the Excise department have jointly destroyed banned crops over thousands of kanals of land in south Kashmir district of Pulwama and Anantnag during the past six months.
