Strike not proper: Karnik
Kolhapur, Jul 19: General secretary of Employees Central Sanghatna of Maharashtra government, R G Karnik, today said to resort to strike to fulfil their demands in present circumstances when the state is facing drought-like situation due to scarce rainfall is not proper.
Addressing the state government employees meeting here this evening, he said the Sanghata is strong enough to put pressure on the government to clear their pending demands, which include implementation of recommendations of Sixth Pay Commission to state government employees and dearness allowance arrears among others.
State Finance Minister had already announced that the government would implement the recommendations of Sixth Pay Commission for the benefit of employees, he said, adding, however, tackling drought-like situation in the state is very important for the government.
