Kathmandu, Jul 19 (UNI) The Maoists' last hour rejection of the CPN, UML candidate Madhav Kumar Nepal as president of the country paved way for a new equation between the Nepali Congress, UML and the MJF to elect NC candidate Dr Ram Baran Yadav as the first President of the Himalayan Nation.

The parties have agreed to elect Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (MJF) candidate Paramanand Jha for the post of Vice-president.

Maoists refused to support Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala for the presidency saying they would make an alliance of the Communist party, UML and rejected the name of Nepal in the 11th hour and decided to support Ram Raja Prasad Singh and Shanta Shrestha for the office of President and Vice-president respectively.

However, the MJF refused to support Singh saying that the Maoists have refused to support its Vice-president candidate Jha.

With new power equation againt Maoists, which has 226 seats in the 601-member CA, the largest party may not be able to form a new government as none of the major political parties are in a position to support the former rebels saying it has betrayed them.

Meanwhile, the election of the President and Vice-president will be complete within a few hours time.
