Guj Govt to strengthen Consumer Dispute Redressal
Gandhinagar, July 19 (UNI) In a bid to strengthen Consumer Dispute Redressal Forums across the state, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had convened a meeting of the officials here today.
During the interaction, President of the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission Justice (retd) M B Shah and President of the State Commission Justice (retd) N G Nandi made a case for strengthening the network of dispute redressal right from the grassroots level.
The Chief Minister assured co-operation to evolve a network of the Dispute Redressal forum at district level.
To protect the interests and rights of the consumers, it was also proposed to accord quasi judicial status to both National and State Commissions. In addition to this, three additional benches of the State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission were also proposed during the meeting.
