Electricity for farmers at 35 paise per unit
Shajapur, MP, July 19 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said electricity would be provided at 35 paise per unit to peasants.
Mr Chouhan made the announcement while addressing a public meeting at Shujalpur town in this district.
He said the government was committed to provide better price to farmers on their produce in order to make agriculture a lucrative profession.
Mr Chouhan said welfare schemes were being implemented for all sections of society. Farmers are being provided loans at 5 per cent interest.
A decision has been taken to provide compensation for loss to crops caused by deer.
On being waved black flags by the Congress, he said he was not afraid of demonstration.
More than 200 Congress workers were arrested for waving black flags to the Chief Minister during the programme but were later arrested.
