Cong leader escapes naxal attack
Dantewara, Chhattisgarh, July 19 (UNI) A Congress leader has escaped unhurt when naxals attacked him at Nakulnar village in Dantewara district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.
Congress leader Awdhesh Gautam was meting people after weekly market when naxals fire upon him but missed target. On retaliation by his bodyguards, naxals escaped from the spot but left a bag containing a bomb behind.
Security has been provided to Mr Gautam in view of threat to him by naxals to kill him. Mr Gautam is a supporter of Salwa Judum leader Mahendra Karma.
