Villagers vacate houses to please Rain God
Kondipalli, July 18, 2008 : Following a unique ritual, villagers in Tamil Nadu vacate their houses for a day to please the rain God. People of Kondipalli village stay away from their homes once in every five years and pray to the rain God.
They believe that with rain God's blessings they will eventually receive more rain and will get rid of other problems as well. The villagers vacated the entire village and went to the forest with all their belongings including utensils and cattle.
