New Delhi, Jul 18 (UNI) Two people were injured after some construction material from a site of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) fell on a vehicle passing through a road near Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
''At about 1900 hours, a crane working on a Delhi Metro construction site developed some malfunction. As a result, some construction material fell on a Qualis vehicle passing nearby,'' a DMRC spokesperson said.
Of the four occupants of the vehicle, two were safely rescued by Metro staff and fire service personnel while two others, including the driver, were injured.
While the driver sustained multiple fracture on the leg, another person suffered minor injuries, the spokesperson said.
''The injured have been admitted to the RML hospital where full care will be taken by the DMRC,''the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, the DMRC has called a high level meeting urgently to review all construction near busy roads, the spokesperson informed.
