Bangalore, Jul 18 (UNI) JJ Pramila and Sushmita Singha Roy achieved the 'A' standard in heptathlon on the second day of National Jumps and Combined Events here today to book a place in the next month's Beijing Olympics.
Pramila of Jharkhand, who didn't complete all the events at Madurai, finished first securing 6078 points followed by Sushmita, who secured 6027 points to cross the qualifying mark of 6000 points.
JJ Shobha has already qualified for the Olympics in the same event. All the three athletes achieved the ''A'' standard.
''I am very happy to have secured the standard,'' said Pramila after her event.
The Total number of athletes who have qualified has now gone upto 16.
The middle and long distance athletes, who are presently in UK, have the last chance to qualify for Olympics. Six athletes have already reached Manchester to compete in tomorrows competition.
Indian Women 4x400m Relay Team has already secured the 15th place among the top 16 teams of World.
In the Long Jump women's event, India's ace jumper Anju Bobby George repeated her season's best performance with a jump of 6.55m and secured the first position.
