No action against brawling players: PHF

By Staff
Lahore, Jul 18: Referring to the brawl during the Junior Asia Cup semi-final against India as 'normal', Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) secretary Asif Bajwa said no action will be taken against players who were involved in the incident. ''Such incidents do happen particularly when Pakistan and India are playing because the emotions run high. But once the match is over it's all normal as before. So, both Pakistan and India shouldn't fuss about it,'' Bajwa said.

Indian and Pakistan players exchanged blows during Wednesday's match after Kashif Ali and Muhammad Irfan engaged in a scuffle with Indian captain Gurbaj Singh. The match was stopped for 10 minutes before the officials of both teams intervened and calm prevailed.

India, who were leading 1-0 at the time, went on to win the match to qualify for the final against South Korea.
