Hyderabad, Jul 18 (UNI) Down by two goals, India rose back like a champion and in a full blooded display of counter attack, over ran the South Korean citadel to lift the Asian Junior Cup Hockey Championship by a 3-2 win in the final at Gachibowli stadium here today.
Drag-flicker Diwakar Ram's golden goal in the extra time gave India the thrilling victory in a fast paced game after both the sides were level 2-2 at full time.
Trailing 0-2 till the 58th minute, defending champion India came back through Mandip Antil (in 59th minute) and the penalty corner converted by Diwakar Ram in 61st minute to level two all after Korea led 1-0 at half time.
Nam Hyun Woo began Korea's charge on a bright note as he sounded the post in just the seventh minute to give his side an important 1-0 lead.
Woo struck once again in the 52nd minute to give the visitors a 2-0 lead before Antil and Diwakar Ram helped India seal the summit with a 3-2 victory.
