New Delhi, Jul 18 (UNI) On the face of it she would seem to be just another pretty face in Bollywood, like Nisha Kothari and Antara Mali, adding to the glamour quotient in a Ram Gopal Verma film made in the backdrop of the underworld.

Delhi girl Sakshi Gulati, a newcomer in the line of Ramgopal Verma's discoveries who makes her acting debut in his forthcoming 'Contract' - third in the trilogy of his films on the underworld, insists that she is much more than a show piece or piece of woodwork in 'Contract.' ''I am not just a glamour quotient in 'Contract','' the model-turned actor states at the outset.

Former Miss Delhi (2006) and a finalist in the Miss India pageant last year, Sakshi Gulati features opposite another newcomer Adhwik in the movie.

Talking to UNI on the eve of release of 'Contract', Sakshi said it is true that 'Contract' is also in line with the films on the underworld like 'Satya' and 'Company' made by Ramu ji in the past. But the pleasant surprise is that I am not in the background.

Infact, what attracted me to this film initially was the fact that for the first time Mr Verma has experimented in this genre by bringing a girl in the foreground. Secondly, it is a performance-oriented role and I don't just have to look pretty and sing songs. I am not like a prop, but have a place and space to perform.

''I am playing role of a girl called Eea who is actively involved with a dacoit. Eea is basically a girl in the underworld set up. At the same time, there is a parallel love story of this girl with the guy in lead role. It is a strong performance oriented role.

I have enough space, enough dialogues and emotional scenes too. In short, it is quite an interesting role with lots of ups and downs,'' Sakshi quipped.

Like all the actors who have previously worked with Ramgopal Verma, Sakshi too has all praises for the filmmaker.

''He is a technically sound person, a totally focussed individual who knows exactly what he wants. He was extremely excited about 'Contract'.Also, we were on the same wavelength as we both shared the same zest for doing something in life and somehow connected over the film and the character as well. I can definitely say that 'Contract' is one of Ramgopal Verma's most hard hitting films,'' the actress added.

While working with him, I got to learn a lot of things. And, considering that it was my first film, I enjoyed myself thoroughly, she said.

'Contract' being an underworld film, one would assume that the action and stunts would be done only by men, however, Sakshi said that she also got the chance to do a lot of stunts in the film.

''I have done a lot of action stunts in the film. Infact, my first scene in the film is an action scene. I have also done jet skiing in the middle of an ocean without a life jacket,''said an elated Sakshi.

For Sakshi, who has done a lot of ads, ramp shows and fashion shows, it was a chance to visit Mumbai on a modelling assignment that bagged her the role in Ramgopal Verma's film.

''I had gone to Mumbai on a modelling assignment when a friend told me that Ramuji was casting a new girl. I met the casting director who introduced me to Ramgopal Verma who then screen tested me and I was selected,'' she said.

For this Delhi girl, getting a role in a Ramgopal Verma film is nothing short of a windfall.

''Contract came to me at a time when I was just considering whether I should move to Mumbai and look for roles. Then, all of a sudden I got this opportunity. Anyone in my place would be a fool to let go of this golden opportunity,'' Sakshi says.

Asked whether there were any more films with Ramgopal Verma in the pipeline, she said,''Ramgopal Verma is aware of my potential and which role suits me. Talks are going on, but nothing has been finalised as yet. Infact, I am in talks with lot of people and read many scripts.'' Having got what can be described as a 'dream launch', Sakshi is raring to go, wanting to try out a variety of roles.

''I want to try out a wide variety of roles. I want to tap my own potential and stretch myself to the limit so that I am able to know the things at which I can excel. For example, I would love to do a crossover movie, a normal colourful love story, a very hardcore drama or a period film,'' she said.
