Cops grill 12yr-old girl for trying on nail paint!
London, July 18 : A 12-year-old girl had quite a coloured encounter with the police when she was questioned by cops after trying on nail polish from a shop.
Hannah Gilbert, dabbed on the cosmetic on her thumb when there were no testers available.
However, she got a bolt from the blue when a security guard told her to pay for the cosmetic, or let it be considered theft.
Having no money in hand, a sobbing Hannah was then rushed into the back office at Boots.
She was then questioned by three PCs and was only freed when her parents arrived and paid 6.29 dollars for the Revlon nail colour.
"Hannah was scared and crying. The whole approach was over the top. At first there were three officers and when we got there it was one," the Mirror quoted Hannah's mum Cheryl, 46, as saying.
Hannah added: "I was really scared."
On the other hand Boots said: "We worked with Miss Gilbert and police to ensure an effective resolution."
Kent police added: "No crimes were reported and no further action taken."
