Chennai, Jul 17 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M Karunanidhi today exuded confidence of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre winning the trust vote on July 22, after the Leftists withdrew support to it on the Indo-US nuke deal.
Talking to reporters after the DMK's high-level meeting to discuss the recent killing of Tamil fishermen by the Sri Lankan Navy, he said, ''I am confident that the Congress-led Government will win the confidence vote in Parliament.
''If the present Government falls, those who reposed faith in democracy and the people of the country will get angry.'' On CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat describing the Congress as a sinking ship and asking the alliance partners to jump out of it to join hands with the Left parties, Mr Karunanidhi said he never liked talking ill about a front after being a part of it.
''It's not fair to criticise or pass slanderous remarks against a front after being a part of it and leaving it due to some problem. I don't like this kind of politics,'' he added.
