Security review meet in Kohima, SOP to continue
Kohima, Jul 17: A district level security meet, convened by Deputy Commissioner of Kohima Sachopra Vero, decided to make all efforts to flush out all underground armed cadres from civilian populated areas of the capital town, official sources said here today.
The meeting, attended by Superintendent of Police Renchamo Kikon and other senior police officials, representatives from Assam Rifles, Chairman of Kohima Municipal Council along with his colleagues, representatives of Kohima Chamber of Commerce, Kohima, Jotsoma villages, Angami Public Organisation, Angami Women Organisation, Angami Youth Organisation and the Gaon Burahs of all colonies of Kohima, held here yesterday, called upon the general public to give full cooperation and support to the administration and police to ensure safety and security of the life and property of the people and peace in the town.
The meeting also confirmed that the joint Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), as per guidelines of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, would continue throughout the town and other areas of district for the security of the peace loving citizens.
The meeting confirmed the presence of armed underground cadres in the town and decided to conduct colony wise frisking operations as and when the authority received any information of presence of armed cadres.
