Mumbai, July 17 (UNI) The Hind Mazdoor Kisan Panchayat (HMKP) has decided to organise a massive rally this sunday at Thane, demanding to stop exploitation of contract labourers and give them wages and facilities on par with permanent employees of the organisation.
Addressing mediapersons here today, the HMKS secretary Ramakant Bane said that its working committee had unanimously decided to organise a state-wide rally at Thane demanding that the exploitation of contract labourers by the contractors should be stopped. They should be paid wages by cheque, given weekly off, leave with pay, Identity cards, Uniform, provident fund, bonus and ex-gratia and seven hours duty.
The rally will be presided over by HMKP president Mahabal Shetty.
vice president Suresh Thakur and Sharad Rao would also attend, he added.
