Maintain excellence: TN Govenor tells Chartered Accountants
Chennai, Jul 17 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala today called upon Chartered Accountants to maintain highest standards of professional excellence and ethics.
Inaugurating the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) here, he said while maintaining highest professional standards, they should contribute their mite to the economic wellbeing of the state and the nation.
Stating that he was pleased to learn that ICAI had 1.45 lakh members, he said the institute should take it as its onerous responsibility to impart best coaching and training to students on par with international standards to enable them to compete at global level.
On matters of economic and fiscal legislations, Chartered Accountants should associate themselves with the development of law and keep abreast of all the developments and make quality contributions to the development of all economic and fiscal legislations.
"Your profession is "a knowledge profession" and to keep yourself in the main stream, you should regularly update your knowledge. It is time for you to enhance your capacity by consolidation, networking and merger so as to leave your foot prints in the sands of time", the Governor said.
