Puducherry, Jul 17 (UNI) The Mahila Congress here would organise a rally on July 19 in support of the Indo-US Nuclear Deal following the directive from the Party High Command.
Addressing the press here today, PCC President A V Subramanian said the rally would commence at the Indira Gandhi Square, pass through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminate at the pedestal of the Venkatasubbareddiyar Statue.
The Chief Minister and his Cabinet colleagues would take part in the rally along with Mahila Congress volunteers.
An awareness would be created on issues such as Communists in China not opposing joint military exercises with the US and cheap power generated from uranium.
The Mahila Congress would also organise street coroner meetings and public meetings in all villages to propogate the issue.
On propogating the four-year achievements of the UPA Government at the Centre, Mr Subramanian said five persons were sent to New Delhi to take part in a training camp there from July 19.
On return, the PCC would constitute a committee to undertake the campaign.
Mr Subramanian said the party High Command would find an amicable settlement to the ''tussle'' between the Chief Minister and the Ministers and the financial crisis here after July 22.
