Harish Nagpal (Ind) to vote against UPA
New Delhi, July 17 (UNI) Mr Harish Nagpal, an independent Member of Parliament from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh, today met BJP president Rajnath Singh and assured him of voting against the UPA government in the vote of confidence in the Lok Sabha on July 22.
Mr Nagpal, who was later introduced to the media by former BJP president M. Venkaiah Naidu, said that he was disgusted with the performance of the Government which had failed almost on all fronts.
The common man today was hit by the price rise, while the poor farmers were committing suicides. Besides, the Indo-US Nuclear Deal was being made in such a clandestine manner that the people, including Members of Parliament, did not know what "exactly is the deal about". ''This has led me to suspect that the deal was not being made in the national interest." Mr Nagpal said the he had decided to vote along with the BJP against the Government on July 22, when the Motion of Confidence was taken up in the Lok Sabha.
Mr Nagpal said that he was satisfied with the style of functioning of the BJP but has not yet made up his mind to join it. "I, however, like to work with them," he said, in reply to a question.
He denied that he had been offered some money by the BJP to vote against the Manmohan Singh government.
