Kolkata, Jul 17 (UNI) Squandering chances galore in both halves, East Bengal survived some anxious moments to settle for a 1-1 draw with George Telegraph in the Sahara Premier the League at Khardah stadium today.
After a barren first session dominated by George Telegraph, East Bengal went ahead through a goal by Alvito de Cunha in the 51st minute.
The equaliser for George came 13 minutes later from new foreign recruit Maduako Francis.
The drawn match cost East Bengal vital points in the race as two other big rivals Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting have maintained a clean slate with all-win records.
EB now have four points from two matches and George with five from three outings.
