Jammu, July 17 (UNI) Lashing out at the Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for ''politicising'' and adding fuel to the Amarnath land issue, National Conference senior leader and former member of Legislative Assembly Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari today said be Congress has to face dire consequences due to the Amarnath row in the forthcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls.
Addressing a joint press conference here, the NC former MLAs M A Bukhari and Javed Ahmed Rana from Surankote and Mendhar constituencies in Poonch district said the Amarnath land issue will play a key role in the Assembly polls.
''PDP has added fuel to the issue and the Congress by revoking the land transfer order has not only hurt the sentiments of Hindu community but the people of entire Jammu region,'' Mr Bukhari said.
He said both Congress and PDP will face the music as the coming elections will make things transparent.
However, when asked about the NC president Omar Abdullah's reaction on land transfer issue demanding revocation of order, Mr Bukhari told UNI, ''No doubt NC has a strong hold in the remote areas of the state, but Mr Omar's statement supporting revocation of land transfer order, will also effect the party in Hindu belts of Jammu region.'' Meanwhile, Mr Bukhari said heavy polling will take place in the Assembly polls and finally the National Conference will come out with flying colours keeping aside its counterparts Congress and the PDP.
The MLAs also welcomed the imposition of governor rule in the state at the time when the Assembly elections were nearing.
''The governor rule before the forthcoming Assembly polls shall eliminate the chances of rigging during polling to a great extent and has also dealt to blow the plans of PDP-Congress combine to misuse official machinery to their political advantage,'' Mr Rana alleged.
