Mangalore, July 17 (UNI) A bag left at a flag post by a Dubai bound student, unable to pay for excess baggage, created panic among the traveling public for some time in the Mangalore International Airport here yesterday.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials immediately jumped into action and took safety measures evincluding stacking sand bags near the flag post and prevented the public from going near the bag.

The situation returned to normalcy when it revealed that the bag belonged to a student bound for Dubai.

A Goan student studying in Manipal, bound for Dubai left his bag at the flag post at the airport containing a guitar and books, weighing about 25 kg as he did not had enough money to pay for the excess baggage, according to Airport sources.

The student coming out from the airport explained the officials that he was finding difficult to pay for the baggage. As the student did not have the return ticket, the immigration officials also objected to his travel though he was going on a visiting visa and turned him back on this ground.

The CISF officials made the student to pick up his bag himself.

After the student took away his bag, the security personnel were faced with the ordeal of removing the sand bags and keeping them in their original place.
