Mumbai, Jul 16 (UNI) The Principal Sessions Judge today submitted a report before the Bombay High Court, indicting some police officers involved in illegal detention of Adnan Mulla, accused of triggering a bomb blast inside a train at Mulund railway station in July 2003.

The report was submitted before a division bench of Justice Ranjana Desai and Justice Soundur Belodate.

The bench has asked the Advocate General of Maharashtra to remain present on the next date of hearing of the petition. The court wants to know what action the state government has proposed to take against the guilty officers.

The report was submitted in response to a petition filed by Adnan Mulla alleging that he was illegally detained for 35 days before being officially arrested in the Mulund blast case. He also alleged that he was detained by the officers of crime branch of CID by violating the norms made for undertrial accused.

Mulla, in his petition, had prayed for a judicial probe, which was orderd by the court.

The details of the report are not known but, according to defence advocate Mobin Solkar, Sessions Judge in the report submitted that prima facie officers of the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, senior police inspector and others had violated the norms.

Names of the five officers and the policemen of the crime branch involved in the illegal detention have been mentioned in the report.
