National seminar on Jainism from July 19
Vijayawada, Jul 16 (UNI) A two-day national seminar on 'Jainism in Retrospect', organised by Sree Atma Vallabh Jain Museum and Sree Shankeshwar Parshwanath Giriraj Trust, would be conducted at the Jain Museum in Acharya Nagarjuna University campus from July 19.
Informing this at a press conference here today, Organising Committe Director Prof D Bhaskara Murti said 48 eminent scholars from various universities across the country would address the seminar and present papers on different themes of Jainism. LD Institute of Indology, Ahmedabad, Director Jitendra Bisha would deliver the keynote address.
He said the objective of the seminar was to highlight the rich research potential in Jainism at a time when scholars were focussing on Buddhism, while not paying much attention to research in Jainism in Andhra Pradesh.
