India to participate in Asian Table Soccer meet from July 18

Chandigarh, Jul 16 (UNI) A 15-member Indian team led by Amardeep Singh will participate in the VIFA Asia Tournament of Table Soccer to be held in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) from July 18 to 21.

The Indian team will be accompanied by three officials which include Amrinder Singh as coach, Harish Bhardwaj as the manager, Table Soccer Federation of India president Balwinder Singh Johal said.

Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal has been appointed as Amardeep's deputy, while Harmohinder Singh Lucky, former Deputy Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, will lead the Indian delegation.

Lucky was confident that the Indian team would bring laurels to the country by winning medals.

Marketting Committee chairman Davinder Singh Babla, gave a warm send off to the Indian team.

During the meet, Mr Joe Ueno, ITSF Executive Committee Member and President of the Asia-Oceania Table Soccer Confederation will hold a meeting with federation delegates from Asia and Oceania.

Currently, there are 14 Asian member federations within ITSF. Indonesia, Philippines, New Zealand, Oman (Sultanate of), Singapore are keen to become ITSF members.

Harmohinder Singh Lucky said the meeting's agenda included discussion about the development of table soccer in the Asia-Oceania continental zone and how current members can help new-comers join ITSF.

Teams from Australia, Bahrain, Oceania, China, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Israel, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Taiwan, Thailand and United Arab Emirates are taking part in the Asian championship.

Team: Men: Amardeep Singh (captain), Ranjeet Singh Dhaliwal (Vice-captain), Arshad Mohammad, Dalvinder Singh, Yadwinder Singh, Shobit Gupta, Randeep Gaur, Aavhaas Garg.

Officials: Harmohinder Singh Lucky (head of delegate), Amrinder Singh (team coach), Harish Bhardwaj (manager).

Women: Jashanpreet Kaur, Gurleen Bhangu, Annu. Lady team manager: Ranjeet Kaur.
