India for diversification of markets
New Delhi, Jul 16 (UNI) Stating that Bhutan's economy is inextricably linked with India, Commerce Minister Kamal Nath today said efforts towards diversification of markets and products are, however, being actively pursued.
During an interaction with Bhutan's Economic Affairs Minister Lynbo Khandu Wangchuk, both sides felt there is a huge potential for increasing bilateral trade.
India is the largest trading partner of Bhutan.
Stating that India and Bhutan have traditionally enjoyed a warm, cordial and mutually beneficial relationship, Kamal Nath said these relations are further strengthened by regular exchange of high-level visits.
Bhutan's Prime Minister Jigme Thinley is on a visit to India these days. Prim Minister Manohan Singh had visited the neighbouring nation in May after Bhutan turned into a democracy after general election.
