IMC pledges firm support to PM on N-Deal

Mumbai, Jul 16 (UNI) Indian Merchants' Chamber (IMC) has extended full support of the business community to the UPA government on the confidence vote in Parliament for the Indo-US Nuclear Deal.

In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh sent on July 1o, the chamber has pledged full support of the business community of Mumbai and the 2,50,000 businesses it represented.

IMC President M N Chaini has said now that India has economically and politically developed and is set to assume global responsibilities with other developed countries, it should not shy away from dealing with powerful countries like the US on a equal footing and entering into agreements in the interest of both India and other countries.
