Shimla, Jul 16 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has ordered a probe in the "irregularities" made by the previous Congress Government in the selection of Anganwadi workers and helpers.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Sarveen Chaudhary said that the Government had empowered Deputy Commissioners to conduct these inquiries at District level.
She said that all the complaints received in this connection would be disposed of by October this year invariably.
Additional Deputy Commissioners and Additional District Magistrates have also been authorised to deal with these complaints in addition to Deputy Commissioners.
Ms Chaudhary said that it was being ensured specifically to accord top priority to the deprived and weaker sections of the society while giving appointments to Anganwadi workers and helpers so that they could get employment nearer to their doorsteps.
