Ahmedabad, Jul 16 (UNI) Swami Dayanand Saraswati, convener of Hindu Dharma Sabha, today said Hindu values and culture should be guarded against invasion by Western culture.
Talking to mediapersons after conclusion of a two-day long 'Chintan Shivir' of Sangh Parivaar held at Mehsana Water Park, about 60 km from here, Swami Dayanand said ''Economic globalisation has made an impact on every aspect of Indian lifestyle, including our culture and values.'' He said in the meet, the emphasis was on fine-tuning of Hindutava and Hindu society at large.
''Keep religion out of politics, and politics out of religion,'' he urged the political leaders of the country.
BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said the party was waiting for July 22, to throw the Congress-led UPA Government out of power after the Trust Vote in Parliament.
Mr Javadekar also termed the political alliance between Congress and SP as 'Deal' of convienence.
The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Narendra Modi, RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat, senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi and 77 other leaders.
The leaders also discussed several issues pertaining to Sangh Parivar and Hindu culture.
The current political situation and the Lok Sabha polls are also believed to have been discussed in the meeting.
