ANYA calls off bandh
Itanagar, Jul 16 (UNI) The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) has called off their proposed 12-hour Papum Pare and East Kameng district bandh today after a meeting with Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu here last evening.
ANYA sources said the meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister, had decided to constitute a high-powered committee to probe the manhandling of a person at Seppa allegedly by the Deputy Commissioner of East Kameng district on March 23.
The committee will be headed by MLA Kameng Dolo, the state Chief Secretary and ANYA president Ngurang Changriang to probe the whole episode as decided in the meeting and would table its report within one month, the sources informed.
Besides Chief Minister, the meeting was attended by MLAs from Nyishi-dominated districts, representatives of All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) and members of ANYA, the sources added.
