Syed Modi International Badminton from Dec 18

Lucknow, Jul 15 (UNI) Syed Modi Badminton tournament would be held in Uttar Pradesh capital from December 18 to 21 next.

The prestigious 40,000 dollar prize money tournament. Besides, the National Junior (Under 19) badminton tournament would be held in Chennai from December 8-16.

Announcing the calander of the 2008-09 session today, UP Badminton Association secretary Vijay Sinha said the session would commence from July 18 with the State North Zone championship to be held at Lucknow, Moradabad and Bareilly divisions, while the East Zone championship would be played at Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Devipatan, Faizabad, Basti, Varanasi and Mirzapur divisions. The calander would conclude with Senior Nationals Badminton championships from Feburary 10-18, 2009 in Indore.

The first state senior major Ranking tournament in Lucknow would be played from October 7 to 9, First state Junior Major Ranking events will be played at Saharanpur from Oct 10, Second Junior State Major Ranking at Allahabad from October 17 to 19, while the third edition of this tournament would be played from October 24-26 at Kanpur.

National sub Junior championship would be hosted by Patna from November 10-16 next.
