Dubai, Jul 15 (UNI) Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar held on to the 13th spot in the latest ICC Test rankings issued today.
Meanwhile, other Indian batsmen Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman slipped a place each and are currently poised at the 15th, 18th, 19th and 20th positions respectively.
England middle-order batsman Ian Bell is the new man in the top 20 as he shared the 13th spot with Tendukar after a Test-best 199 in the drawn encounter with South Africa at Lord's.
Another English batsman, Kevin Pietersen, who hit a flamboyant 152 against South Africa, rose three spots and is currently placed at the seventh position, his highest placing this year.
The other England player among that elite group is opener Andrew Strauss, slotting in at 17th in the list, a drop of one place for the left-hander.
However, the batting list is still headed by Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka, ahead of the West Indies' Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Mike Hussey of Australia and his captain Ricky Ponting, along with Mohammad Yousuf of Pakistan, the latter two sharing the fourth position.
In the bowling list, India's Test skipper Anil Kumble is the highest placed Indian at the 8th spot followed by left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh who are placed at the 14th and 18th spots respectively.
Meanwhile, South African pacer Dale Steyn has missed an opportunity to topple Muttiah Muralidaran from the pole position of the Reliance Mobile Player Rankings for Test bowlers.
Steyn started the Lord's Test within touching distance of the peak after an outstanding run of form but figures of 1-117 in the match means he has slipped back and is now only just clear of Australia's Stuart Clark, who occupies third position.
