MP Cong delegation informs Sonia about farmer's suicide attempt
Bhopal, Jul 15 (UNI) A delegation of the Madhya Pradesh Congress led by Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi today met Congress President Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi and informed her about the attempt by a farmer to commit suicide in front of the Chief Minister's residence yesterday, party sources said.
Ms Gandhi directed that necessary help would be provided to the victim. She held discussions about political situation in the state and preparations about upcoming Assembly polls with party leaders.
She also enquired about Ms Devi's arrest in the state capital during an agitation.
Party sources added state Congress Central coordination Meeting would take place after special session of Parliament. The time had been changed in view of political developments.
Katni-resident Ujjyarilal attempted to commit suicide by consuming pesticide near the CM's residence yesterday. He was undergoing treatment at the Hamidia hospital. He was debt-ridden and was annoyed due to non-cooperative attitude of the administration.
