Mumbai, Jul 15 (UNI) Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today appealed to investors and entrepreneurs from Japan to share their finance, investment and technical expertise in fulfilling his dream of converting Mumbai into a world-class Metro.
Inaugurating the Metro Business support centre of Japan Exterenal Trade Organisation (JETRO), belonging to trade and Industry department of Government of Japan here, Mr Deshmukh said ranging from infrastructure, transportation and housing sectors, Mumbai and Maharashtra could provide ample opportunities of investments in retail, entertainment, finance, IT and Textile sectors also.
The state Government will accord a red carpet treatment to all those who are interested in investing in Mumbai and Maharashtra, Mr Deshmukh said.
''The business support centre of Japan may facilitate their entrepreneurs, investors and bankers in providing their skill, service, technology and expertise in these sectors. Here is an excellent opportunity for Japanese entrepreneurs to expand their business horizon and I am sure; JETRO will be successful in boosting more investment from Japan to our State,'' the chief minister said.
Enlisting the achievements of Maharashtra, the chief minister said that within the last two/three years, Maharashtra has attracted investments approximately worth Rs 1.2 crore in various sectors.
''We have signed more than 95 MOUs with almost all the leading MNC companies like General Motors, Microsoft, Volkswagon, Logan, LG, Daimler Chrysler, Siemens, Boeing etc'', he said.
