Amarnath land row: Call for Jammu 'bandh' tomorrow
Jammu, Jul 15 (UNI) Shri Baba Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti has given a one-day Jammu 'bandh' call tomorrow to protest the revocation of the land order whereby 800 kanals of land was transferred to the Amarnath shrine board.
The 'bandh' would be observed after a one-week gap. The Samiti had earlier temporarily suspended the ongoing agitation demanding returning of the land to the shrine board.
The 'bandh' had been supported by the saffron brigade and Bar Association of Jammu demanding back the land and removal of Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra.
According to the Samiti members, there would be a complete shut down in the region and no commercial vehicle would ply on the roads.
''The one-week ultimatum to Mr Vohra is over. Now, complete bandh will again be observed tomorrow to demand that the land be given back to the shrine board,'' Samiti chairperson Leela Karan Sharma said at a press conference here today.
Mr sharma said that supported by various political and religious organsiations, the Jammu region would witness a complete shut down and no intra-state bus service be allowed to ply on the roads.
