Vohra announces Rs 3.50 cr for development of Katra
Jammu, July 14 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra today announced a grant of Rs 3.50 crore from the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board funds for upgrading the Vaishno Devi base camp Katra town in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement here, after visiting the holy cave shrine situated on the Trikuta Hills, Mr Vohra said as part of its social responsibilities, the Board wants to contribute towards the development of the town.
''Rs one crore each will be spent on the black topping and improvement of the existing Bus Stand in the town while CEO Shrine Board has also been directed to released Rs 50 lakh for the renovation of the heritage site of the famous Reasi fort,'' the Governor said.
Mr Vohra also reviewed the arrangements made for the pilgrims visiting the base camp to trek 13-kms long track to holy cave shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.
