London, Jul 14 (UNI) The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is unhappy with the venues selected for the tour of India later this year and have decided to hold back its approval for the itinerary.
The ECB is miffed at the fact that the tour which comprises seven one-dayers and two Tests, will mostly take place in smaller centers like Jamshedpur and Guwahati and will give the more famous grounds a miss.
''ECB are disappointed that, despite their representations, the itinerary doesn't offer the thousands of supporters who follow the England team abroad, the opportunity to experience more of the great cricket grounds of India,'' the ECB said in a statement.
''As far as the ECB are concerned the acceptance of the itinerary remains subject to acceptable logistical arrangements and an acceptable security environment and security arrangements being in place at each of the venues,'' it added.
England, who are scheduled to arrive in India on November 6, will play ODIs at Rajkot, Indore, Kanpur, Jamshedpur, Cuttack, Guwahati and Delhi.
The two Tests scheduled to be held at Delhi and Ahmedabad.
