Patna, Jul 14 (UNI) Cine star turned politician Shatrughan Sinha is likely to contest the coming Lok Sabha elections from Patna Saheb constituency in Bihar.
Sources close to BJP's senior leaders said the "Bihari Babu", as many fondly called Sinha by that name, was offered to pick up a constituency out of three seats -Patna Saheb, Delhi and Mumbai- for coming Lok Sabha elections.
The BJP leader preferred his home turf, the Patna Saheb seat, than that of Mumbai or Delhi, the sources added.
During a recent visit here Sinha said he had full confidence in the leadership of L K Advani and Rajnath Singh.
Mr Sinha said he was elected twice to the Rajya Sabha from here and decided to retain Bihar as his political arena.
Mr Sinha, who was denied a ticket for third term to the Rajya Sabha, said the party had taken a stand that some of the leaders should face electorate in the LS elections.
After a delimitation of many constituencies, the Patna Saheb segment now consists of Bankipore, Kumhrar, Digha, Patna Saheb, Fatuha and Bakhtiyarpur assembly seats.
