Patna, Jul 14 (UNI) The Monsoon continued to remain very active here and elsewhere in Bihar today even as the overall temperature was hovering around 32 degrees Celsius.

The local Met office said intermittent rain coupled with heavy showers continued in several areas during the day, while the sky remained overcast. Similar situation was likely to continue during the next 24 hours.

They said the maximum temperature in Patna was recorded at 31.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 25.9 degrees.

Similarly, Gaya recorded 33.1 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius, Bhagalpur 30.5 degrees Celsius and 27.2 degrees and Purnia 32.2 degree Celcius and 26.4 degree Celcius maximum and minimum respectively.

The weathermen of the regional meteorological office forecast generally cloudy sky in the state capital and its adjoining areas during the next 24 hours with one or two spells of rain and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, life in the state capital was severely affected following heavy to very heavy rain during the past 24 hours resulting in the waterlogging of several low-lying areas.

Most of the low-lying areas of the city's Kankarbagh, Sri Krishna Nagar, Rajendra Nagar, Dariapur, Pataliputra Colony and Machhuatoli were reeling under knee-deep water.

Rain water also entered the ground floor of several buildings forcing the residents to move elsewhere.

Reports of scarcity of potable water were also pouring in from several places.
