Elections to Maharashtra Legislative Council's 5 seats tomorrow
Mumbai, Jul 14 (UNI) The bi-annual election to the five seats of Maharashtra Legislative Council would be held tomorrow, in the backdrop of sporadic incidents of violence and clashes between BJP and NCP workers.
The elections will be held for Pune and Amravati Division Teachers Constituencies as well as three seats of Graduate constituencies.
BJP state president Nitin Gadkari is seeking election from Nagpur division Graduate's Constituency. In Aurangabad, BJP sitting MLC Shrikant Joshi is fighting a challenge posed by MNS candidate and brother of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, Prakash Mahajan.
Incidentally, in Aurangabad constituency, four independent candidates bearing similar names as that of BJP candidate Shrikant Joshi are in the fray. This is the constituency where as many as 26 candidates are seeking to enter the Upper House.
