Dissident policemen end hostage drama
Kathmandu, Jul 14 (UNI) Dissident lower rank police personnel of Riot Control Police Battalion in mid Western Nepal, who had taken hostage of seven senior officals since two days, surrendered today.
This morning after the Government refused to hold talks to fulfill the 20-point charter of demands, including an end to discrimination, exploitation and corruption in the police administration.
''All the hostages are in normal condition and the government may take action against those involved in the activity,'' a senoir Police Officer at Kathmandu told UNI.
The cabinet meeting has decided to ask the Home Ministry to adopt neccesary measures including actions against them.
Junior officials at a police battalion in Nepalgunj, Banke district, had held their commanders hostage at gunpoint since Saturday.
