Badwani, MP, July 14 (UNI) Twenty people have been served notices in connection with the alleged corruption-related case under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) at Sali village in this district, official sources said today.

''A notice was issued to 20 people, including this village Sarpanch, Panchayat Secretary and NREGS (Vigilance) Head,'' said Rajpur district's Sub Divisional Officer (Revenue) B N Kaul, adding that a probe would be carried out and a report submitted to the District Collector within two weeks.

Villagers had handed over a memorandum to the district collector few days back informing him about prevailing corruption in NREGS in Sali village.

Here, deceased, government officials, blind, students and migrated villagers were shown as labourers and wages were withdrawn in their names.

More than 100 labourers, who were working here under NREGS at Chhoti Kasravad village, had struck the work alleging that agency was providing less wages.
