Villager injured in wild bear in North Kashmir
Srinagar, Jul 13 (UNI) A wild bear attacked and injured a villager in north Kashmir official sources said today.
They said panic gripped Mirhar Sheeri when a bear suddenly appeared in the village when people were busy with routine work.
They said the bear attacked and critically wounded Mohammad Ramzan Chbopan.
However, he was immediately rescued by other villagers and taken to hospital.
Animal-man conflict in the Kashmir Valley has increased in the recent past, they said.
About 30 people were killed or wounded by wild animals since January this year when the animals infiltrated into towns following heaviest snowfall in twenty years, they said.
In retaliation people have also killed about half a dozen wild animals, they added.
