Raj Assembly session begins tomorrow
Jaipur, July 13 (UNI) The special session of Rajasthan Assembly beginning tomorrow, is likely to be stormy with the Opposition Congress gearing up to criticise the Raje government over a number of issues including the Gujjar agitation and the Jaipur serial blasts.
The session convened to legislate on proposed five per cent reservation to Gujjars and three other castes under special category and 14 per cent reservation to economically backward strata in unreserved higher caste is likely to last for a week.
Besides, comprehensive legislation on reservation, about 10 bills are scheduled to be tabled and passed during the session, government Chief Whip Mahavir Prasad Jain told UNI.
The ruling party was open to hold discussion and debate on any of the issue and/or bill in the house but the course of proceedings would depend up on the attitude of the Opposition.
"We hope that they will like to cooperate and participate in debate and discussion in a meaningful and positive manner", Mr Jain said.
The ruling BJP legislature party held its meeting last evening to draw a strategy for effective floor management during the session.
The Congress legislature party will meet tomorrow in the Opposition lobby in the assembly complex to finalise its strategy, however, the opposition's efforts will certainly focus on criticising, the state government over its "anti people" attitude over sensitive issues, a Congress spokesman has said.
