Sultanpur, Jul 13 (UNI) Soon after Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi succeeded in his efforts for direct providence of funds to gram panchayats, attempts to bring more transparency into the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) started.
Now, the government is preparing a scheme as per which all the work of the NREGS would be computerised and made online, sources said.
Besides, Block Development Officer (BDO), Assistanat Development Officer (ADO) and accountants would be trained for quality work.
As per the scheme, the officers would be provided two computers at each block after this training.
Giving information, Sultanpur's Chief Development Officer (CDO) Vimal Chandra Srivastava said, ''Datas are being brought from all the districts as the proposed scheme would be initiated at state level.'' However, initially, the NREGS work would be done online in Lucknow, he added.
The gram panchayat workers would update the details of the working and feed data time to time, allowing its easy assess through the Internet anytime, Mr Srivastava maintained.
Prior few months, Mr Gandhi came up with the direct providence of funds facility to efface growing corruption and irregularities from the scheme.
