Kolkatans get respite from sultry weather
Kolkata, Jul 13 (UNI) People in the city and its hinterland got much awaited respite from hot and humid weather as heavy rainfall lashed several parts of the state including its capital today.
Local Met office recorded 21.4 mm rainfall during last 24 hours.
Several other districts also received moderate to heavy rainfall bringing down mercury level quite considerably.
Lanes in several areas were water logged disrupting life in many places, especially in low lying areas.
Met officials recorded the days maximum temperature at 31.4 degrees celcius while the minimum was pegged at 24.9 degrees.
Moreover they also predicted generally cloudy sky with the possibility of spells of rain or thundershower during next 24 hours.
