Preserve environment, says Former VC
Patna, Jul 13: Former Patna University Vice-Chancellor Md Mohiuddin has emphasised the need for greater public participation for the conservation of the environment.
Presiding over a three-day training programme on 'Environmental Impact Assessment Studies' here yesterday, Mr Mohiuddin called for the adoption of environment-friedly measures to achieve the goal of sustainable development.
The event was jointly organised by the Centre for Environment and Nature Conservation (CENC), Patna University, a nodal training institute under the Environment Training Unit, and the Central Pollution Control Board.
Justice Mihir Kumar Jha of Patna High Court, while speaking as the chief guest, commended the Centre for taking corrective measures to preserve the environment from further degradation.
Mr Jha also felt that the university could play a major role towards conserving the environment.
CENC chief executive R C Sinha and S K Srivastava, Head of the Zoology department, Patna University, were, among others, present on the occasion.
