Bodies of drowned holidaymakers recovered
Nainital, Jul 13 (UNI) The bodies of five tourists from Delhi who drowned in the Kosi River in Almora district of Uttarakhand yesterday have been recovered, police said today.
The incident took place yesterday after a group of 25 tourists went to take a bath in the Kosi river when a sudden gush of water swept five of them away.
Talking to UNI, district police in charge Mukesh Kumar said the deceased worked for a Madras-based company in Delhi and had come on a package tour to the district.
He said police recovered their bodies in Nainital district yesterday. The post-mortems on four bodies had been conducted and they were handed over to the respective families, he said, adding a post-mortem examination on the last remaining body would be done today after which it would be handed over to the family.
