Sambhaji Brigade holds Rasta Roko

Nashik, Jul 12:Activists of the Sambhaji Brigade held 'Rasta Roko' at Sinnar in the district today demanding reservation for Maratha community.

It was led by president of the organisation Subhash Kumbhade from Sinnar taluka. Around 15-20 activists participated in the agitation by shouting slogans. The Sambhaji Brigade had observed indefinite hunger strike during last legislative assembly winter session at Nagpur for their demand of reservation for Maratha Community.

Following which, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh had given assurance to them that reservation will be provided to Maratha and Kunbi communities as both are the same. Despite this assurance, the state government has not taken any step in this regard.

To protest this inaction of the government, the organisation has been holding statewide agitation since last few day.

The agitation stalled the traffic for sometime. Police have arrested the agitators, who were release later.
