Noida, Jul 12 (UNI) After 50 days in jail, dentist Rajesh Talwar who was charged with murdering his daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj, today walked out free from Ghaziabad's Dasna jail.
A special court had yesterday granted him bail after the CBI did not press for extension of his custody, citing lack of evidence against him.
As he stepped out of the jail, his brother Dinesh Talwar hugged him with tears in his eyes.
He was also welcomed by his wife Nupur, sister-in-law Vandana Talwar and other relatives. They then got into waiting cars and drove straight to a Sai temple in Sector 61. After praying for a while, the family then went to Dr Talwar's in-laws' residence at L 245, Jalvayu Vihar. Family friends Praful and Anita Durani later met them here.
Speaking to mediapersons, a tired looking Rajesh Talwar said he thanked God for his release. ''I thank God as justice has been done and we stand vindicated. I would like to grieve over the loss of my daughter with my family.'' Asked if was planning to take action against the Noida police, which had made several slanderous charges against him, he said he had not thought about it.
''Let me first come to terms with my loss,'' he said.
His brother Dinesh appealed to the media to leave the family alone.''Please allow us to grief for our daughter,'' he said.
